WHO WE ARE
Aviary Vineyards launched with the 2010 vintage of our Napa Valley Red Blend. That first vintage took advantage of tiny lots of different varieties from 13 different vineyards throughout Napa Valley. Much like an aviary, the blend of different grapes interacted and harmonized to create a wine that was beautiful, enjoyable, and captivating. Each component is wonderful, but together, they combined into a truly great experience.
Napa Valley Reserve
Aviary was launched with a Napa Valley Red Blend sourcing fruit from 13 different blocks. For years, we only supplied a handful of restaurants because our production was so limited. Now, over a decade since our first vintage, Aviary Napa Valley lives on in our elegant Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. Our style has been described as a tiger on a pillow - big and bold in flavor, but soft and smooth in texture. Enjoyable upon release with continued complexity and softness with age.
California Cabernet Sauvignon
The Aviary California Cabernet Sauvignon captures the quintisesstial big, rich, dark fruit flavors that have made Cabernet Sauvignon such a popular wine from the Golden State.
On the nose you will find generous blackberry and blueberry fruit with a touch of baking spice. The mid-pallet continues with dark fruit expressions of black plums and cassis, some red fruit in the form of subtle strawberry preserves, and just a hint of bright menthol or eucalyptus. The French and American oak program adds notes of caramel, cigar box, and a romantic, dusty leather and cedar quality that gives the wine depth and layers. Balanced acidity and soft but structured tannins give this wine a gorgeous texture.
This wine is one that pairs exceptionally well with your favorite steak or roast, but will shine just as well on its own. this wine is a wonderful example of the rich, smooth, and elegant style that Aviary has become so well known for.
Composition: Napa County, Sonoma County, Lodi
The Aviary California Chardonnay is a classic California style with tropical flavors of banana, pineapple, guava, and papaya made lively with great citrus acidity balanced with soft textures and layers of pie crust, vanilla, and buttery croissant.
This wine pairs spectacularly with a bevy of main dishes, from roast chicken to creamy seafood pasta; but would also work very nicely aside an after-dinner cheese plate, or even creme brulee. Best of all, this is a wine to enjoy by the glass with good company.

Aviary’s inaugural release was a red blend from the 2010 vintage, where we utilized a diverse spectrum of fruit from throughout Napa Valley.
It was a time when the wine industry was still feeling the affects of the Recession, so we were able to make a wine that delivered amazing value. By 2015, the cost of Napa Valley grapes had skyrocketed, making it impossible for us to make our wines at the same costs. The last vintage of Napa Valley Red Blend was 2015.
Our mission since that time has been to search far and wide for the best Bordeaux varietals in California that could deliver the quality of Aviary at an accessible price. The result is Birds of Prey, a reference to our hunting expedition across the state and the protectors of the vineyards that we continued to see over these vineyard sources.
